Pakistan face Sri Lanka in their Super Eight Match Tomarrow

Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in their opening match of the Super Eight on Friday (tomorrow). Younis told reporters that the key to victory was in the hands of senior batsmen like Shoaib Malik, Misbahul Haq, Kamran Akmal, Shahid Afridi and himself. “I would like to win the World Cup for my country and fans back home. I know it is difficult but not impossible,” he added. Younis said Pakistan have always been slow off the blocks but difficult to stop once up and running. “When we lost back-to-back warm-up games and opening match against England, we lost our way and there was pressure. But victory against Holland has given boost to our morale.” Having crossed he first hurdle, the challenge becomes more difficult in the Super Eight where Pakistan are grouped with Ireland, New Zealand and Sri Lanka, a draw that keeps alive the possibility of a semi-final tie between Pakistan and India, which would be one of the biggest TV draws in international sport.
