ISLAMABAD, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's army chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani Monday took part in an air operation against militants in the country's northwest, local TV channels reported.
Kayani flew an F-16 fighter jet himself to hit positions of the militants in Swat and Malakand of Pakistan's North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
Kayani, who wore the uniform of a pilot, was accompanied by a co-pilot during the air operation.
It is the first time in Pakistan's history that an army chief directly took part in an operation.
Earlier, speaking at an operational base at Sargodha in the eastern Punjab province, Kayani said that the operation "Rahe Raast" (true path) in Swat and Malakand had been launched to guide the astray people to the right track.
He said that the operation was not a solution to the problem and a solution would be hammered out in accordance with the traditions and culture of the tribal area. He said that Pakistan did not require advice from anywhere.
Pakistan is all set to take revenge from what it was a shameful defeat in 2007 world cup. But more than this, it is a good opportunity for Pakistan to race towards semi final the only thing is they have to win and win decently. Last match won against New zealand was a real magic and what a splendind performance by Umar Gul. For a surprise Kiwi captain alleged Umer Gull for ball tempering which was dismissed by match refree. Vettori was of the view that how a 13 over ball can reverse swing, mr. vettori - it’s the skill that you people can never master. So if you can not play it, atleast you can appreciate it.
The match is scheduled today at the Oval and will start 1830 PST. For Pakistan the batting worries continnue as Misbah, Malik and Afridi still have to blast in batting. Misbah and malik have been worse and scored merely 144 jointly which is 6 runs more than Younus Khan’s totall tally. The green shirts continue its lethal bowling spree that has reached a perfect combination after the ouster of Tanvir and joining of Razzaq. Pakistan is still to touch its peak since the unit does not seem in full synch when it comes to batting, bowling and fielding togather. Read More Watch Pakistan vs Ireland T20-20 Live Streaming
Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in their opening match of the Super Eight on Friday (tomorrow). Younis told reporters that the key to victory was in the hands of senior batsmen like Shoaib Malik, Misbahul Haq, Kamran Akmal, Shahid Afridi and himself. “I would like to win the World Cup for my country and fans back home. I know it is difficult but not impossible,” he added. Younis said Pakistan have always been slow off the blocks but difficult to stop once up and running. “When we lost back-to-back warm-up games and opening match against England, we lost our way and there was pressure. But victory against Holland has given boost to our morale.” Having crossed he first hurdle, the challenge becomes more difficult in the Super Eight where Pakistan are grouped with Ireland, New Zealand and Sri Lanka, a draw that keeps alive the possibility of a semi-final tie between Pakistan and India, which would be one of the biggest TV draws in international sport.
You might have seen the news in different newspapers writing the shameful activities of some of our leaders during their current visit to United States. Well, i don’t have words to say anything about that, except that we are sorry to first prime minister of Pakistan Shaheed-e-Millat Khan Liaquat Ali Khan Shaheed. We can just pray for our leaders. May Allah show them the right path and a heart, which can feel what are they doing. And at a time when our more than 1.6 million brothers and sisters are homeless in their own homeland.
As Pakistani Forces zero in on Baitullah Mehsud in South Waziristan, the United States has announced it has given its forces in Afghanistan standing orders to enter Pakistani territory if it has ‘intelligence’ on the presence of Osama Bin Laden, Ayman al-Zwahiri and Mullah Omar at any given location.
The Washington Post reported that the US Special Operation Forces had already established ground teams near the Pakistani border in Afghanistan who would move into Pakistan when required.
This announcement by the US has raised eyebrows in the Pakistani security establishment as it comes at a time when Pakistan forces, having recaptured most of Swat and defeated the terrorists there who are equipped with U.S. armor and weapons, is moving into Baitullah Mehsud’s stronghold in South Waziristan to finish off this warlord who is killing Pakistanis.
The US has in the past shown no interest in striking Baitullah Mehsud’s insurgent militia which calls itself Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. The U.S. carefully avoided targeting TTP with its Predator and Reaper drones run by the CIA. Read More Is U.S. Trying To Save Agent Baitullah Mehsud?
Courtesy To Pro-Pakistan.com Again back to fierce rivalry, Pakistan Vs India - this time at Oval , this time in a fund raising 20-20 match.
The last time Pakistan and India met in a 20-20 match, was the Final of the 20-20 championship that India won by 5 runs. However it is a bit different since this time they are playing for fund raising for the victims of Lahore attacks on Srilankan cricketers.
Both the teams have lost their practice games - Pakistan lost to South Africa, while India lost to New zealand. So this seems to be the perfect opertunity for both the teams to raise their game and adjust to the English conditions.
Its mouth watering prospect, since tension between the two rival run high since the Mumbai Attacks, and subsequent diplomatic offenses by both countries to gain political motives. Although its more a practice game , but expect no quarters and all out attack from both teams to prove their superiority. It is worth mentioning that Pakistan is the No 1 Rank 20-20 team in the world , while Indians are the defending champions. It is expected to be full house at Rosebowl.
Pro-Pakistan would provide the links for the live streaming of this match, so stay tuned and enjoy the best Pakistan and Indian has to offer on cricket field.Read More India Vs Pakistan 20-20 Live Streaming From Oval
Every new day ignites the inferno of fear and uncertainty ,such is the state of my country. While we are at war in our northern areas ,it wont be an implausible confession that the rest of the Country is no less than a battlefield. Or possibly worse as the target seems to be varied and the enemy has but one aim, maximum destruction. The military claims collateral damage as the operation intensifies . The military action has already cost over 81 lives of military men while over 250 have been injured .Most importantly it has also triggered the second largest Humanitarian crisis in the world over 3.5 billion homeless.

Despite the chaotic scenario one is overwhelmed by the spirit of those who have suffered most in the situation. Many working on ground convey the spirits of those who irrespective of their conditions show great support for military. These people have lost their homes and life, for them has come to a halt ever since the tussle with Taliban. Yet they continue to support and have strong faith in the ongoing military operation. The strength of these people leaves me perplexed ,are they hoping for the unattainable?. As much as one wants these people to be in the comfort of their homes, the genuine need for the operation to go on cant be denied. In fact the very thought of halting the military operation brings back the faces of the brave martyrs who have given their life to the cause. Their families that put p a brave front in hopes that their loved ones have not lost their lives in vain. With their pain comes the enthusiasm to completely throttle the enemy.
